When will enough be enough? How many more Black men and women have to fall before our country cares enough to act? Wake up, America. This will no longer be tolerated.
While the cops are kneeling to kill the ones we love, Black protestors kneel to attain justice for the murders of the ones we have lost. When I watch the video of the murder of George Floyd, I see carnage, I listen to George Floyd’s cries, and they cut me deep. I get flashbacks of anxiety from my run-ins with white police officers knowing that this could too easily have been me or someone I know.
Millions of Black Americans share this same nightmare. And it is our reality.
Even white civilians feel they have the right to condemn us to death. (Click to watch video of Ahmaud Arbery) But nobody is going to sit by anymore. We’re changing our minds now and creating a society that values us.
